Duck and Goose Calls
Custom Calls and Waterfowl Carvings
by Scott Schroder
Each of my duck and goose calls is hand turned and crafted from the finest hardwoods available. I use no duplicator, so each call is truly unique. Woods are selected not only for beauty, but for sound quality as well. I normally have an excellent stock of hard maples, walnut, cherry, rosewood, padauk, and cocobolo. I have a small inventory of ebony calls at the present time. Most of my inserts are either cocobolo, macassar ebony, or hard maples due to their excellent sound quality.
Most of my calls receive a hand carved and painted duck or goose on the barrel of the call. All of my calls receive my personal trade-mark of a wood burned mallard drake curly tail feather or a goose tail feather on the opposite side of the barrel. Each insert is signed and dated.

I specialize in matched sets (either duck and goose or duck, goose and
wood duck). I will carve any species of duck or goose on your call by special order. E-mail me for details and wood currently available. Pricing for my calls is as follows:

Matched Set: Duck, Goose and Wood Duck calls on walnut and cherry base, 2/2006

calls are curly maple and cocobolo
Here are my new special "Cocobolo Hunting/Competition Calls". I got an exceptional shipment of cocobolo recently. These calls are really nice and sound great. They feature my trademark, burned mallard drake curly tail feather and no carving. Orders are being reserved now at $85 per call. A limited number will be available. Please e-mail me for questions or photos of calls currently available.
All of my inserts are Arkansas style, single reed. The reeds are 10/1000th Mylar and each is hand tuned. I tune to my preference, but with your help, can tune to your liking. I will also provide some extra reed material with each call so when you get the call tuned exactly how you like it, you can make an extra reed or two.

Each call is offered at $250 and will be available on a first come, first served basis. The edition will sell out quickly. delivery will be available approximately late of June, 2008.

At this time six calls are still available. They are; black ducks (illustrated), wigeon, gadwalls, shovelers, blue-winged teal, and green-winged teal.
